How to take a nice picture?

Import author: Salem Al Braiki

Sometimes when you surf the Internet in Facebook or Flickr, you will see many amazing pictures, and you will wish you could take the same pictures yourself. There are several steps for taking nice pictures. The first step  is choosing the right mode of shooting, and it depends on the weather and the lighting around you. If the light is enough then you will set the camera on the normal light mode. But if it is low then you will need to increase the exposure to get the needed light to have a bright picture, which is better than getting a dark pictures. Second you need to check the horizontal line of the background and make sure to be straight. Then look in the aperture and try to have your subject inside the picture frame. Finally take a breath and hold it while you are pressing the shutter button to have a sharp and stable picture. In summary, photography has many techniques you have to learn but this is a brief recap for beginners to enable them to save their beautiful moments in amazing  picture.

Welcome to your FCWR 101 shared writing space

Hi and welcome.

This is a space where students at New York Institute of Technology can share their class FCWR101 writings.

This space is private only for those enrolled in this course.  You are welcome (and encouraged!) to keep your own personal and/or public blog elsewhere, but here, students in Vance’s classes may post their best writing here and earn a “makeup” A on one missed homework assignment, or have their lowest mark replaced with an A.

You can write on an assignment that you have completed or you may expand on one of your free writings.  If you wish you can start a writing in Google Docs and share it with your teacher for feedback before posting it here.

You can post by logging into the blogspace http://fcwr101.posterous.com
or by sending your post by email FROM the address where you are a member of this space
TO fcwr101@posterous.com

You can attach media files to your email and these will appear in your post.  In some cases simply a LINK to a media file (image, video, etc.) will cause that file to be imbedded in your post.

When someone posts here all subscribers get an email. You will be able to read and most importantly COMMENT on each other’s writings. You can comment either by posting at the site, or by responding directly to the email.

I think I have added all students enrolled in the course as of today as contributors to the blog.  That means you should all receive a copy of this post by email and you should all be able to comment or post your own writing.  Some of you have created accounts here.  I asked everyone to do that but I think you can participate without a Posterous account.

As we find out more, I’ll update this introduction.  Meanwhile, I am sure you will enjoy the course, especially if you like writing 🙂

Fiesta de Fucilli par Nassir

Import author: nassir751
Pasta is one of the most famous dishes in the planet, there are many ways of preparing it which makes it so much fun to make and gulp. The ingredients should be ready which includes Fucilli pasta, beef bacon, mushrooms, green and black olives the perfect polonaise sauce which you can find in any store, mozzarella and small cut down tomatoes and onions, then you open up with two pans where you stuff the pasta with the tomato sauce and put the garlic and some olive oil in the pan before placing the pasta on a hot temperature. Then, after waiting you place the vegetables and the bacon in a separate pan, and then you mix up the pasta and the vegetables with bacon after you’ve seen an orange colour of the pasta and place the mozzarella then voila you’ll have a nutritional stuffing meal, while its being cooked of course I like mine a little spicy so I add the Tabasco and then let the mixing flavours linger in your mouth. Finally, as a side dish you can have a couple of sliced cucumbers with balsamic vinegar, olive oil and of course some salt, voila enjoy with the complements to the Chef and the recipe of yours truly Nassir.

The Jane Austen Center Tea Room

Import author: nusaibajoan

The tea room in The Jane Austen Center in Bath is filled with the smell of baked goods and freshly brewed tea. It  overflows with the soft September sun shining through the three aligned windows. The white linens set against the soft blue walls add a cheer to the room while still maintaining its quiet atmosphere. Regency pictures ,framed so delightfully in gold, adorn the wall and add to the overall period theme. Women dressed in regency costume sit around gleefully ordering a Mr.Darcy tea special, while a softly smiling waitress quotes Jane Austen to their extreme delight. The room is any Jane Austen lover’s dream come to life, a place to enjoy a ‘high tea’ while being in an Austen like atmosphere. The tea room at the Jane Austen Center is truly a place of wonder,  excitement and where dreams become reality.

Saif’s Graduation

A person’s graduation either from High School or University is considered to be one of the best days in a persons life. A great day in my life that was full of happiness and pride was the day I graduated from High School, and mostly it was seeing my parents smile at me with pride while seeing me get up on stage and receive my certificate. I believe they thought how great I was and what a successful person they hoped I would become once I started my professional career. Seeing the looks on my father’s and mother’s faces put a huge smile on my own face and that is what I believe is the most important part of a person’s life is to make his/her parents happy and proud. That also gave me motivation to continue my success in life and seek more education in order to become the great person they dreamed of.

I believe an even better day would be the day I graduate from college and feel that i have really accomplished something big and moved to another stage in life where I am fully independent and counting on myself to live my life.

There are many moments I think that are great in my life and many others that I believe will be greater to come; for example the day I get married, or the day I see repeated the cycle of life where I see my son/daughter graduating from school or college.

The best day of a person’s life cannot be easily determined. Life is full of joy, happiness, sadness, entertainment and many more emotional moments. Some may be very happy and joyful, and the moment it happens can be considered the best day of a person’s life, but then as the days pass the happiness for that day starts to fade out and a person will start remembering days even before that that were so much fun and start to think that that day before was even more fun that the last one, at least that is my opinion. Life is full of happiness and joy therefore i advise every person on this planet to enjoy every single moment of it because we only live once.
